What’s Inside
We’ve included nine powerful probiotics, each chosen to support optimal gut and immune health:
Bacillus coagulans – Supports gut comfort, reduces inflammation, and encourages the growth of beneficial bacteria (Majeed et al., 2016).
Lactobacillus acidophilus – Soothes sensitive stomachs, improves digestion, and strengthens the gut barrier (Plaza-Diaz et al., 2019).
Lactobacillus rhamnosus – Enhances gut barrier function, supports digestion, and reduces gastrointestinal upset (Segers & Lebeer, 2014).
Lactobacillus plantarum – Supports production of beneficial gut compounds, improves stool quality, and helps regulate immune responses (Arena et al., 2018).
Lactobacillus casei – Promotes digestion, helps balance gut bacteria, and supports healthy immune function (Tsai et al., 2019).
Bifidobacterium breve – Reduces gut inflammation, supports bowel regularity, and promotes digestive wellness (Turroni et al., 2014).
Bacillus subtilis – Survives harsh stomach environments, supports enzyme production, and promotes gut flora balance (Elshaghabee et al., 2017).
All the probiotics in SymbioPaws have been clinically tested for efficacy, but our two favourite and featured probiotics are:
1. Bifidobacterium longum 1714™ – The Gut-Brain Hero
This clinically researched probiotic strain is known for its unique ability to support the gut-brain axis. In studies, it has been shown to help reduce signs of stress and improve mental resilience in both animals and humans. It supports a calm mood while promoting healthy digestion and immunity. Reference: Allen et al. (2016). Bifidobacterium longum 1714™ modulates brain activity and stress response. Transl Psychiatry.
2. Saccharomyces boulardii – The Gut Protector
This beneficial yeast is well-known for supporting the gut lining and helping manage diarrhoea, yeast overgrowth, and antibiotic-related imbalances. It’s gentle, safe, and especially helpful in pets with sensitive digestion or on long-term medications. Reference: McFarland, L.V. (2010). Systematic review of Saccharomyces boulardii in adult and pediatric patients. World J Gastroenterol.
Together, these two powerful ingredients, along with all the specially selected others, help restore balance in the gut, soothe inflammation, and improve mood and immune response - all in one or just half a scoop.
Digestive Enzymes: Unlocking Nutrients Naturally
Digestive enzymes are specialised proteins that help break down food into smaller, absorbable components, making nutrients easier for the body to use. They're significant for pets with sensitive tummies, those recovering from illness, or senior dogs and cats with reduced digestive efficiency.
Here’s how each enzyme in our blend supports your pet’s gut health:
Protease – Breaks down proteins into amino acids, essential for muscle repair, skin health, and immune function.

Amylase – Converts complex carbohydrates (like starch) into simple sugars for energy.
[Source: Corbin & Ma, 2021 – Animals (Basel)]
Lipase – Breaks down dietary fats into fatty acids and glycerol, supporting energy, coat health, and cell function.
[Source: Gurung et al., 2018 – Journal of Animal Science and Biotechnology]
Cellulase and Hemicellulase – Help break down plant fibres that dogs and cats can’t digest on their own, reducing bloating and supporting stool quality.
[Source: Swanson et al., 2002 – Journal of Animal Science]
Papain (from papaya) and Bromelain (from pineapple) – Naturally occurring proteolytic enzymes that support protein digestion, reduce gut inflammation, and may ease discomfort.

Together, these enzymes:
Enhance nutrient absorption
Support smoother digestion
Work in harmony with our prebiotics and probiotics to restore digestive balance.
Particularly beneficial for pets after antibiotic use, stress, or changes in diet, and for older animals whose natural enzyme production may have declined.
Why SymbioPaws is Great for Older Dogs and Cats
We have created this gentle but effective supplement for dogs and cats of all ages. But as pets age, their gut health and immune function can decline. Research shows:
Microbiome diversity drops in older pets, making them more prone to digestive upsets and inflammation (Snoeck et al., 2004, Journal of Nutrition).
Digestive enzyme production slows, resulting in poor nutrient absorption and lower energy levels (Zhao et al., 2019, Aging and Disease).
Probiotics improve gut and immune health, and enhance overall quality of life in ageing animals (Benyacoub et al., 2003, Journal of Nutrition).
Suggested Use
Sprinkle over food once daily.
Refer to the label for dosage based on your pet’s body weight. Start with a lower dose for sensitive tummies and gradually increase.
How SymbioPaws Can Help
Restores gut balance - By replenishing beneficial bacteria and enhancing digestion.
Boosts nutrient absorption - Supports enzyme production and the health of the gut lining.
Strengthens immune defences – A healthier gut means better immune resilience.
Reduces inflammation naturally – Probiotic strains produce gut-soothing, anti-inflammatory compounds.
Enhances comfort and vitality – Less tummy trouble, better poos, shinier coats, brighter eyes, and more tail wags.
Warnings and Precautions
Safe for dogs and cats.
If your pet has a compromised immune system, serious illness, or is undergoing chemotherapy, please consult your veterinarian before use.
For pets with sensitive stomachs, introduce gradually.
